We live in an ever-increasingly digitalised, interconnected world. A world full of digital technology that constantly tells us what to think, who to be, and what to say. So often we find ourselves comparing who we are and what we are doing to what others are doing.
Sites like Facebook give people ample opportunities
to keep in contact with friends and family. It also has a darker side. Quite often we can find ourselves comparing who and what we have achieved. This can be a dangerous trap to fall into.
It is a dangerous trap because we take the focus of our own unique talents and life journey. We become dissatisfied with the journey we are taking. Sometimes this is a good thing. We all need mentors! We need to make sure that we are constantly working on our skills.
However, we need to make sure that we don’t become envious of others and dissatisfied with what it is we are setting out to achieve in life.
My thought of that day is thus this: Always aim to keep a balance in your life. Help people when you can.
